I’m trying to draw the similarities between two worlds.
I just finished reading a book written by Carolyn Jessop. You know… the woman who escaped from the FLDS cult, the one that Warren Jeffs is the head of now. The other book I’ve been reading but put down to read the Carolyn Jessop book is called “Women of Windsor”. This one is a book about the british monarchy and the women who have ruled and influenced Great Britian.
I find a lot of similarities between these two groups. Polygamists and Monarchists (is that a word?). Both believe this is a God-given right, they were chosen not the other way around. Both believe in keeping the ‘bloodlines’ pure. Both have horrible tales of incest and abuse. Both have raised very screwed up children.
Now I ask you given these extreme parallel societies, if there were a war between them – who would win? I think a Broadway play based on this is in order…or perhaps a Cirque du soleil.
